Here Come the Funny PeopleEvery year, we stand agape at the lineup for SF Sketchfest, wondering who thinks San Francisco comedians are rock stars (we know thats Sketchfest director and co-founder David Owen, but still). This year, hes brought us another daunting schedule, with more than 100 performers and comedy troupes dispersed among 11 venues over 17 days. We cant tell you about everything; Sketchfest has more than 50 shows and an excellent Web site. We can, however, make a list of the famous people: Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Janeane Garofalo in The Hills: A Staged Reading. Everybody from The State (Michael Ian Black!) and Stella (Michael Ian Black!). The Onions sketch team Pangea 3000. The Daily Shows Rob Corddry and Rob Riggle. Human Giants Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer. Martin Mull. Fred Willard. Dana Carvey. Andy Richter. Jon Hamm of Mad Men. Bud Cort of Harold and Maude. Scott Thompson of The Kids in the Hall. Everybody from TV Funhouse Live and a bunch of people from SNL (Will Forte!). Of course, many of our own famous locals have been invited as well (Kaspar Hauser, Will Durst, Nato Green) and even some once-famous locals who absconded to New York but just cant stop themselves from returning to our glorious city (Will Franken). Sketchfest runs Jan. 15-31 at multiple locations.
