OK, this sounds too good to be true: Author R.J. Ruppenthal says you can grow vegetables in any city apartment. He says he can show you how, even if you don't have a "big yard." Listen, dude, most of us don't even have roof access, and/or our landlord is so paranoid he won't even let us have window boxes on the fire escape. "Big yard." But he seems serious, insisting that things grow in kitchen cabinets. "Or," the press materials chirp brightly, "any patio, balcony, rooftop ..." If we had those, we wouldn't need expert advice, now would we? In spite of our bizarre hostility towards this helpful green-thumbed guy, we're excited to hear him read from his book, Fresh Food from Small Spaces.
