The Zone Diet

The Twilight Zone episode that was never written may be the zone in which Twilight Zone Live exists, with episodes of the belovedly weird TV show, as re-created at a small black-box theater in the Mission. Maybe that’s not weird enough, but we bet it is: The sixth season of this anachronistic scenario delivers Matt Lieb directing “I Sing the Body Electric” (we almost had to leave our bodies to write that), Dan Foley taking on “Terror at 20,000 Feet,” and so much more, both in the realm of directors and installments. Four incarnations of Rod Serling are on deck, and just to complete the jaw-unhinging mouthful of television turkey, there are homemade commercials fabricated just to let your brain thaw here and there. There should be lots of laughing with and at the boob tube industry; plan on lots of mugging and silliness, awkwardly rendered surreality, deep esoterica, and a spirit firmly in synch with the original series.
