Sure, it's a little weird to see that Tom Jones has gone gray. (What's next: George Hamilton losing the perpetual tan?). But along with his looks, the singer's booming voice and signature tunes are aging quite nicely. Decades after they first became hits, "It's Not Unusual," "What's New Pussycat?," and "She's a Lady" maintain their potent pop swagger, and he continues to do them justice live. The "Welsh Elvis" just put out a new disc, 24 Hours, that continues the classic Tom Jones sound. Unlike, say, Neil Diamond's recent foray into serious singer-songwritering, Jones is less interested in reinvention than reaffirmation — that his charismatic, swingin' lounge style will never die.
