Hear Them Roar

This is how we like our feminism: Thee Merry Widows is a five-lady psycho-horrorbilly band. Strength and self-determination are written all over The Devil's Outlaws, the Widows' latest CD, which sings the praises of witches and Aileen Wuornos. But these women don't fit the stereotype of hippie man-haters, not by a long shot, even if they're kinda into some of the same stuff. In fact, their leather bustiers, fishnet stockings, and lacquered hairdos would horrify your standard baby boomer. Still, for those who love both pinup girls and girl power, this Cramps-inspired gang is totally yummy, with its stand-up bass, rock guitars, and power-femme lead singer.
