Feeling SuicidalBy Michael Alan GoldbergPublished on March 30, 2009 at 3:24pmIt's been nearly 30 years since "Cyco" Mike Muir and the first incarnation of Suicidal Tendencies gathered brutal hardcore, a funk groove, and SoCal gangland imagery under a punk-rock banner. Tracks like "Institutionalized" have helped the group endure over the decades, despite lengthy hiatuses and myriad lineup changes (Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo held down the Suicidal low end for most of the '90s). Muir is the sole remaining original member. The band's latest comeback performances have proven the current Suicidal incarnation boasts the volume and energy and to do the back catalog justice. Put differently: The band is still able to pack a house with fans who just want to scream along with the lyrics, "All I wanted was a Pepsi!!"
