Everybody Dance Now

You know what happens when you make an assumption? That's right: You make an ass out of you and umption. You've probably made a lot of assumptions about homeless people; it's hard not to, but just think of how umption must feel. At "A Night with the Stars," a local organization with a good track record of un-homeless-izing people, Community Housing Project, has organized a bunch of formerly homeless people for a talent show. Dancers, poets, Louis Armstrong soundalike Mr. Smiley, and plenty of others perform. We're sure every one of them is great, but honestly, our money's on the Princess Cheerleaders, six little girls prepared to annihilate your tear ducts with their rendition of "This Land Is Your Land." Meet them at www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh0haWANTKQ; see what you think. Those in the know point out that the former Olympian who breaks boards with his bare hands is also pretty cool. Whoever wins the cash prize, umption's bound to feel better.
