Disco has crept back onto San Francisco's fashionable dancefloors, making bands like Glass Candy veritable heroes in the process. Once a noisy outfit owing a heavy debt to No Wave and post-punk, the Portland duo of Johnny Jewel and Ida No have reinvented themselves as the king and queen of chilly Italo style through a series of releases on the Italians Do It Better label. Their most recent offering, Deep Cuts, compiles the band's singles, B-sides, and rarities for those who can't get enough of the delightfully detached disco darlings. Billed as an official Italians Do It Better party, the show marks Glass Candy's first S.F. appearance since opening for the Faint last year and also features label head Mike Simonetti alongside local spinner DJ Omar.
