Local comedy troupe the Freeze throws a bass, a drum kit, and five MCs on the stage to play a musical round of “Can you use that in a sentence?” It’s not a spelling bee, though: It’s a comedy production called Super Awesome Rap Team. The skilled musicians and MCs include infamous Lady Sovereign–botherer MC Jelly Donut and his gang, freestyling with words submitted by the audience at the beginning of the show. A three-week run provides ample opportunity for variety and a concerted effort at stumping these folks — check your dictionary to throw the MCs some verbal curveballs for their "improvised freestyle." Bonus points for anyone who can get them to holler "'Improvised freestyle' is a redundant phrase."
