Schooling You

Those of us with a thing for hipster academics have known him for years. Michael Eric Dyson is a superstar among the small, well-educated world of egalitarian PhD candidates. But the "hip-hop intellectual" gains momentum as he goes, gathering fans with each appearance on CNN and "Real Time with Bill Maher." At "Can You Hear Me Now?" he takes on racial injustice from the perspective of someone who grew up on welfare and holds a degree from Princeton; anyone with experience somewhere along that spectrum can relate to his theologically and philosophically sophisticated yet common-sense observations.
