Hundred Years’ War
Robot battles are older than Google. Christ, they’re older than GeoCities. Still, robots do not fly. But they play soccer. Not combat robots, though; they just kick ass, as always. But RoboGames makes room for every mechanism in the robot community, including robots that play sports, wrestle, weight lift, act human, or just stand around and look cool (art bots). Everybody loves the ones that destroy one another, though, so a big part of RoboGames is simply letting that happen, in weight-class bouts that top out at 340 pounds. Be thankful for the double layer of one-inch polycarbonate sheets in the arena, because, well, shrapnel.
