Dubstep would've become just another loping beats-and-bass category if not for U.K. DJ and producer Steve Goodman. As head of the vaunted Hyperdub label, he released two atmospheric albums by Burial that transformed the genre into a frenetic street soundtrack. Under the moniker Kode9 for the 2006 album Memories of the Future, he backed the Caribbean-accented existentialist spoken word of the Spaceape with powerfully minimalist beat tracks. Though Goodman frequently visits our dubstep mecca, this will be the S.F. debut of the 'Ape, so get ready for a truly rhythm-driven recital from these dancefloor outliers.
