Hope you've been practicing — The New York Night Train Soul Clap and Dance-Off is the chance you've been waiting for your entire young life. A dance competition needs great judges and great DJs, and it's never going to be better than this party, in either of those departments. Mr. Jonathan Toubin, New York City's soul-45 mastermind and superDJ, offers as judges the music editors of both alt-weeklies (our own Jennifer Maerz and the Bay Guardian's Kimberly Chun), Jello Biafra, Cinnamon from the Lusty Lady, artist Jay Howell, musician and DJ Paul Costuros, Dave Katznelson of Birdman Records, and DJ Primo Pitino of the Make-Out Room's amazing Tuesday nights, among others. These are people who've seen dancing, so keep practicing.
