Four courses is too much, unless one of them is ... coffee? At "Theater You Can Eat," The People's Theatre company invades a Bolivian/raw food restaurant, and presents a slate of comedies about the effects of comestibles on human life. The first, Wake Up Cup, honestly sounds like a common nightmare: Something happens, you can't get your first cup of coffee in the morning, and then some yutz breaks all the rules of civility that bind you to nonviolence by speaking to you. Is it not one of the great questions of our times, whether it's acceptable to commit mayhem in this situation? The new local company breezes through this and three other playlets — their themes are salad, ceviche, and chocolate, the other three food groups — while you eat your fried plantains, sautéed beef, and/or raw tacos. Bon appétit! "Theater You Can Eat" starts previews this evening; opening night is Aug. 7.
