San Francisco may have lost Six Organs of Admittance mastermind Ben Chasny to Seattle last year, but the adventurous spirit he weaves into his experimental compositions remains undeniably Bay Area in tone. His delicate fusion of psych, folk, and drone maintains such a seamless flow that it's difficult to believe much of his recorded output is improvised. Elegant sonic architect that he is, what ultimately makes Chasny's work so compelling is its meld of otherworldliness and a warm, humane heart.
