The Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County is home to more than 60 wineries and one peach farm. We’re partial to the peach farm. For the past 50 years, Dry Creek Peach and Produce has resisted the urge to become a limousine-trapping, bridal-showering YAWN (aka Yet Another Winery) thanks to two things: nice peaches, and devoted customers like Postrio and Town Hall who buy them. In doing so, it has become the only dedicated organic peach farm in the county, producing more than 30 tons and 30 varieties per year, such as Yukon King, Autumn Flame, and Last Chance (this being early September). Sound delicious? Find out yourself at the hour-long Fresh Peach Tasting and Preserves Swap, which is hosted and stocked by Dry Creek owner Gayle Okumura Sullivan. Obviously, you should bring something fruity to swap. With this crowd, you’re certain to trade up.
