Cédric Klapish's new feature film looks a little saccharine. It's a chick flick, to be sure. A feel-good movie. Tisn't going to advance the art of cinema. But what of it? Nothing wrong with chicks or feeling good, unless you're a bitter jerk every single day of your life. So ecoute: Paris has Juliette Binoche to recommend it, which is mighty lovely, but even better, while you watch it, you'll be in Paris. PARIS FRANCE. The most beautiful city in the world. If you don't want that, no matter the state of middle-aged filmmaking, fine. More for us.
