A good farm isn’t hard to find, not around here. But Soul Food Farms in Vacaville is one in a million, a place revered by the locavore chef magicians who give the Bay Area its good reputation. So when a fire had its way with the chicken-and-egg–producing family business, people immediately started going out of their way to help rebuild it. Today, two seatings at two-star Michelin chef Daniel Patterson’s new, casual restaurant make up a Soul Food Farm benefit — one of two benefits happening today and one of many altogether. The family-style, three-course menu involves ingredients from other local superstar farms like Prather Ranch, Mariquita Farm, and Full Belly Farm. Eat up.
