People who ghostride the whip, or their parents' Chevy Aveo, are pioneers in daredevil car-body movement. We wish they would stop. Much better to leave it to the professionals of the San Francisco Trolley Dances, who dance at a responsible distance from fully operational Muni light-rail streetcars. The premise is wonderful: You board the J-Church, enjoy a few moments of public transport, offload, then watch a local dance group do its site-specific thing. Then you reboard to hit the next location and the next show — performers include Deborah Slater Dance Theater, Sonic Dance Theater, Deep Waters Dance Theater, and more — winding down the J-Church line to Mission Terrace. It ends on a perfect 10 with the SF Merionettes Synchronized Swim Club, which requires the audience to congregate poolside. Responsible ghostriding — no threat of crashing, drowning, or being stupid.

The San Francisco Trolley Dances start at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday (and continue every 45 minutes until 2:45 p.m.) at the Miguel Hidalgo statue.
