Cartoon Yourself

Whether your life looks more like The Family Circus or The Boondocks, your chance has arrived to chronicle it in graphic novel form at the Graphic Novel Master Class with Ariel Schrag. The fantastically talented Schrag self-published her first comic series, Awkward, as a freshman in high school and has been rolling strong ever since. She has published four graphic novels: Awkward, Definition, Potential, and the recently released Likewise. She was a staff writer on Showtime’s lesbo groan-and-gasp drama The L Word for seasons three and four, and recently toured with notorious literary road show Sister Spit. The woman knows from drama: She’ll help develop your story, style, and layout, as well as discussing those who have come before you, such as Art Spiegelman and Marjane Satrapi. Strap on your typewriters and bloom under the tutelage of Schrag’s graphic mind.
