In honor of Perez Hilton publishing a book, we finally went to his site. Sweet Jesus! All that pink! NSFW! If we understand it correctly, Hilton draws (penises?) on celebrity photos because this nets him more than 200 million page views per month. Good enough. Makes about as much sense as Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush. His book about gossip with the questionable title, Perez Hilton's True Bloggywood Stories, also has a weird subtitle: The Glamorous Life of Beating, Cheating, and Overdosing. There has been some gossip lately — Michael Jackson, Jon and Kate, Carrie Prejean, the children from Twilight. If there ever were a year for a $17 book about gossip from a major publishing house that wouldn’t actually carry the scent of rotting content, this could be it. Also, the world is ending in 2012. We should note that Hilton has already been tested at the bookstore with Red Carpet Suicide: A Survival Guide on Keeping Up With the Hiltons, which presumably did well enough for Penguin Group to say, “We hate publishing! Give Hilton another deal.” Still, Hilton was the shove that toppled Prejean into her pop-culture death chute, and she may have finally reached the acid bath when she called Larry King “inappropriate.” For that, we’ve been entertained.
