Local artist and activist Sara Thustra is well known and well loved for making paintings and street art. Trippy geometry, text bits, and a neon-meets-Earth color palette are signature moves. But Thustra is also a calendar-maker. In 2006, a huge calendar project collected reminiscences of Greg Scott and other LGBT activist/survivors into a set of inspired multi-month panels. So when the artist offers 25-cent calendars to be disbursed through a vending machine, we can't help but get excited. The machines also hold wristwatches and paintings, each a quarter, and in the gallery itself, bright paint work starts at the floor and goes 14 feet up to the ceilings.
