Donnelle Malnik is a tattooed guitar-rocker with years of dance and yoga experience, plus hours of DJ time logged. It's safe to say she knows her music. (She also tap dances, but that's another story.) At Heavy Metal Aerobics, Malnik puts shred and sweat together, not just with a Queensryche warmdown, but also by having her students lift beer cans instead of weights. She knows her audience: She warns us not to wear either Converse or high heels, and promises to teach scissor kicks "that put David Lee Roth to shame." Malnik is very style-conscious, so don't hold back with the bizarre leotards, coordinating sweatbands, and neon legwarmers.
