Cryptopaleontology Rules

It was a time when Gondwana roamed, the eustatic oceans teemed with rudists, and lo, it was the longest period of the Phanerozoic eon. Megacontinents were riven, calcareous nanoplankton throve, and when it was all over, the pterosaurs were annihilated. Yes, the Cretaceous was a truly epic geologic period. To do it justice, local indie-metal dudes have banded together, growling in harmony and using powerful electric wattage to honor the era's hallmark: the mass extinction of mammals. Radical screaming guitar riffs evoke ancient, inevitable tragedy, while thrashing bass and drums remind us now of the palpitations of a frightened animal about to fight for its life, now of the pulse of the Earth's blood through newborn mountain ranges.
