From Feb. 5 through 14, some people are going to be so drunk. Also during this time, Alice Waters determines what food goes well with what beer. So does chef Ruggero Gadaldi of Beretta, Bar Crudo’s Mike Selvera, Orson’s Elizabeth Falkner, and any number of other chefs around the Bay Area, since these people all signed on for beer-food pairings as part of S.F. Beer Week. Shmaltz Brewing Company takes another route, pairing its beers with the dance troupe Hubba Hubba Revue and accordion band Vagabondage on Feb. 11, and tonight with the klezmer band Sex With No Hands, to celebrate the coming of age of the company’s newest beer, Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah. DIY crafters get the Homebrewers Beer Fest, and everybody gets beer ice cream at Humphry Slocombe during the entire run. A daily scavenger hunt, beer and chocolate pairings, a Beer 2 Brakers bike ride, and seemingly endless beer tappings, tastings, and drinkings are just a sampler of the many events taking place. It makes us want to ... piss, to be honest. There’ll be a line later.
