Even in the afterlife, relationships are complicated. In local filmmaker Tom Pankratz’ sleek Limbo Lounge (screening today at 7:15 p.m.), a newly dead dude gets the lowdown from a former squeeze: If he does the Devil’s work and corrupts one innocent person, his road to Hell (and his ex’s heart) will be paved. Choosing a lowly copywriter, our sleazy hero exposes the Machiavellian cesspool of big-time advertising to the sweet light of the SF Indiefest projector. A different breed of nocturnal creeper — a witty vampire (John Ventimiglia) with a longstanding grudge — haunts an off-Broadway staging of Hamlet in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead (9:30 p.m.). Presumably, N.Y. director Jordan Galland offered his apologies to Tom Stoppard as well as to Shakespeare. Elsewhere in this alluringly offbeat festival, local docmakers David Silberberg (Oh My God! It’s Harrod Blank!) and Katherine Bruens (Corner Store) unveil empathetic portraits of, respectively, an oddball artist and a Palestinian grocer who has scraped by for a decade to make enough to bring his family to America. Save a seat for one more dreamer, the movie-mad San Francisco romantic (writer-director-star Adam Bronstein) of My Movie Girl, who aims to rectify a botched date with an on-camera do-over. Endearingly awkward, our hirsute hero sees everything through a lens brightly.
