East London–based DJ and producer Jamie Jones is continually switching between spinning electro-tinged, druggy tech-house and sampling rare cosmic disco records. That results in sets that are more than 50 percent custom re-edits, but with certain common elements. "It's all about the groove, swinging drums, and a chugging bassline," he says. These influences, "weird sounds and future voices," can be heard infiltrating the 11 tracks that make up his 2009 debut, Don't You Remember the Future. The tones of winding melodic synths, auroral guitar, and live action drums promise to even further pervade the bassy stabs and vocal hook–punctuated funky jackin'.
