All Tangeled Up

If you’ve attended any Earl Dax–produced events, then your fear of performance art has disappeared. You love it! His fine curatorial skills have led him to present work from such luminaries as former Miss Lower East Side, Dynasty Handbag (she looks like she went mano a mano with a snowblower and won), the personal-risk-taking Taylor Mac, and many more. Simply put, Dax gives those of profound talent and poor self-promotion a forum in which to Express Themselves. The Tingel Tangel Club originated at Glasslands in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (the neighborhood currently beating out the Mission as a target for hipster jokes; leave them and their slim-legged pants alone!), and came to San Francisco in March 2008. Since then, the show has brought hot acts from both coasts, and tonight’s S.F. two-year anniversary will pleasure you just the same, with joker darling Marga Gomez, S.F. drag institution Trauma Flintstone, dancer and prankster Keith Hennessy, and on and on (Holcombe Waller! Fauxnique!). Performances are punctuated by DJ sets, giving you the chance to hydrate (so important), shake your rear, and punch the air. The event is hosted by Veronica Klaus and Joey Arias.
Fri., March 19, 9:30 p.m., 2010
