Dear artists, please come to San Francisco. If all goes well, we can offer a new place for you to stay, a sweet little spot which is also a studio and a gallery. You'd be following in the footsteps of this month's resident artist, Xavier Esqueda. A Mexico City-based surrealist painter, Esqueda's first residency was at Dartmouth college in 1965, where he followed in the footsteps of his countryman Jose Clemente Orozco. We can't promise you'll end up as lauded as Esqueda is, of course, but stopping in at the gallery's blog periodically to track his progress won't hurt. Do visit, regardless.
