Hello Garlin

Jeff Garlin’s credits run from the notable (Toy Story 3) to the crucial (Arrested Development). He’s a versatile man, and no matter where you turn your eyes, he’s proving it. Tonight’s show is stand-up comedy; just a man, a microphone, and his zingers. We know Garlin is a skilled improv comic from his work on Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he plays Larry David’s manager in front of the camera and produces behind it. He’s just one of those guys who feels real when he’s dishing out some giggles — none of the aggressive power-joshing of someone trying too hard and exhausting your attention. In February, Garlin published My Footprint: Carrying the Weight of the World, a book about his struggles with overeating, certainly an underexplored addiction in the world of Hollywood, in which booze and powders pass as classy. He comes across as a good guy and a many-splendored talent, hilarious with just the right amount of earnest.
