Precious as its name may sound, Scottish quintet Frightened Rabbit actually makes a spirited roots-rock sound that's far from twee. Six years, three albums, and a whole batch of singles in, these Glaswegians — led by charismatic frontman Scott Hutchison — have evolved from stripped-down, lo-fi musings on misery to the sunny, regal, and sonically thick new The Winter of Mixed Drinks.
