What the world needs now: more farmers' markets. Well, that and doctor-approved reasons to take Dilaudid. At the new North Beach Farmers' Market, the center of Little Italy gets bountiful, featuring local and organic fruit, vegetables, and farm goodies. Organizing nonprofit group Urban Table makes a point of including food other than produce, like honeys, spices, and local specialties. This means there could be fresh pasta and maybe even sausages. And cheese, mmmm. No pharmaceuticals, because as Urban Table's website says, "We hope to inspire families and communities to learn healthy habits and value local, organic, and sustainable farming practices." We love sweet love it.
