If you felt a little tattered and torn by the World Cup ruckuses, but you still want some mano-a-mano in the realm of musical stage art, get ready to take sides: Local drag mavens Trauma Flintstone and Katya Smirnoff-Skyy bring you the best in local cabaret fighting it out. In a yearlong series of cabaret competitions, the duo has sussed out Best Modern Cabaret, Best Showtunes, Best Female and Male Crooners, Best International, and Best Vaudeville. Tonight’s Cabaret Showcase Showdown pits all the individual category winners against one another to find the Ultimate Cabaret Performer. In a greasy pit of talent like San Francisco, you know the competition is fierce. The winner gets a solo showcase at the dear martini hut at the end of Valencia. No one has accused Trauma or Katya of being subtle, and though vuvuzelas may not ring through the Mission after the end of the show, the experience will be a blast.
