Our money's on Mission Minis. But at the Cake Moda Cupcake Wars (no relation to the Food Network show), it's anyone's game, and certainly James and the Giant Cupcake is the best name for a cupcake bakery. To ensure that the most delicious cupcake is awarded the cash and other less important stuff, it would probably be best, you know, for the sake of justice, and in the name of fairness, if you, personally, made sure to taste every single available cake. Your city needs you. Be a hero. Looks are also important here, and in this Ace of Cakes–influenced milieu, expect fondant in the shape of the Golden Gate Bridge, redwood trees, hippies, gay sex, and other things that represent San Francisco to the world. If we had our way, there'd be a cupcake with fondant in the shape of stinky cheese. Local stinky cheese, of course — Cupcake Wars offers prizes for Most Creative Use of Fondant and Most Local Source Ingredients. Five judges are on hand, but you, hero, you must take up where they falter, brave cupcake eater. To aid you in your quest, wine flows in Lethean streams via the Crush Barrel Wine Market, and so does something called “Smart Energy Cocktail Shots,” a phrase which to our eyes contains contradictions, but whatever. It's in the name of cupcakes, so we're for it. Go Mission Minis!
