Cabaret From Mount Olympus

What’s a cabaret show without Greek mythology and stop-motion animated monsters? Nothing, if you ask the people behind the Cat’s Pajamas. This month’s show is Clash of the Titans. It will include the things one might expect in a cabaret show – music, comedy, a hypnotism act. But it also will include a screening of the 1981 film classic of the same name. Among the “real time” acts are the appropriately named Titan Ups, a reggae band that promoters say “could make Mount Olympus shake” with their sound. Comic and journalist Harmon Leon is said to have hair that would make even Medusa jealous. (And I wonder whether it’s a coincidence that Leon’s publisher is Promethus Books? Liver, anyone?) The Hypno Trio Cabaret Act involves an ill-meaning duo trying to take advantage of a young woman, but apparently they get their comeuppance. San Francisco favorite Chicken John will also be on hand.
