Solar panels on the White House ― it’s a very “now” topic. The Obama administration has taken several different positions, and it seems to be in favor at the moment. But Jimmy Carter already did it, way back in 1979. (Ronald Reagan took them down.) So here is a man who won the Nobel Peace Prize, and who has been publicly working for equality, education, and sustainability ever since he refused to join Georgia's White Citizens' Council in 1970. Carter is also the author of 25-plus books, including not only the outspoken Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid but also The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer; we want both, immediately. Today, he signs copies of yet another book, White House Diary, an annotated version of his journals from his presidency that we hope covers the solar panel situation.
