Making It Happen

Witches say that when you picture stuff in your head, you increase the chances of that stuff actually happening. Other people agree, such as motivational speakers, life coaches, sports coaches, and holistic healers. It’s the principle of “manifesting.” So if you sing, speak, dance, or pound out those visions of yours, think how much more powerful you become! It’s not an exact science, of course. At “Manifest!val for Social Change: Like Oil and Water – From Gaza to the Gulf,” putting forth their ideas for a better world are singer Alexa Weber Morales; dance companies including Anne Bluethenthal & Dancers, Dance Brigade, Facing East Dance & Music, and Labayen Dance with Daiane Lopes; actor Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe; and the young dancer-drummers of Grrrl Brigade.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Nov. 12. Continues through Nov. 20, 2010
