Anyone lucky enough to catch the Grinderman shows at Slim's and the Great American Music Hall in 2007 could probably still tell you in vivid Technicolor detail how spectacularly great those performances were. It was an array of old-man suits, suspicious-looking facial hair, and a whole pile of louder-than-God, distortion-fueled songs that made you wanna get down and dirty (filthy goddamn dirty, actually). With the arrival of the quartet's second album — the not-that-creatively-titled, but still wondrous, Grinderman 2 — in September, there's even more to be excited about this time. But we're still secretly hoping the boys find time to throw in a bunch of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds songs like they did last time.
