Wearing Nothing But a Book

The world’s love affair with boobs probably excludes a few gay guys and some women totin’ around the bazooms themselves. Besides them, though, we’re all here, some of us are queer, and goddess bless the mighty breast. If we may boldly continue this sort of jackass introduction to the Naked Girls Reading, it’s worth pointing out that the performers who are reading tonight will be fully nude and not just showcasing their racks. The event is intended to commemorate the Seventh Annual International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. Years ago, serial killer Gary Ridgeway confessed to killing 90 women and specifically targeting prostitutes, essentially because he believed they were easy targets and no one cared about them. Local activist and ecosexual sexecologist Annie Sprinkle, upon reading this sad news, teamed up with the Sex Workers Outreach Project and declared Dec. 17 a day of remembrance. Tonight’s reading features the lovely Sprinkle, as well as a cast of gals reading from various tomes related to sex work. Come for the literature or come for the scenery, and by no means are you to feel any shame about enjoying either.
