Once the saccharine cacophony of the holiday season gets to be too much, as it inevitably will, consider celebrating in a different mode. To mark the reissue of 1999's Christmas EP — which contains what is surely the least invigorating arrangement of "Little Drummer Boy" ever recorded — the Duluth, Minn., trio Low is taking its brand of elegantly mournful almost-rock on a weeklong West Coast tour. In addition to threadbare renditions of holiday standards, expect selections from a catalog that spans more than 15 years, from the funereal lilt of the band's mid-'90s output through the menacing thump of the late '00s — plus probably a preview or two from Low's ninth album, C'mon, to be released next year on Sub Pop.
