Oftentimes, combining a comedy show with a birthday or bachelorette party means lots of stiff drinks and dildos strapped to the heads of the women tearing it up in their final hours before marriage. These giggling “dickheads” can be a comedian’s worst nightmare, as the rest of the audience tends to be tangentially aware that someone else is also performing laughable acts. The clown onstage tries to eke out a living, meanwhile, begging you to take his (or her) wife. Tonight at Harvey's Funny Tuesdays, series producer (and standup comedian) Ronn Vigh and a cadre of his favorite funny gals celebrate his birthday from the stage. Who then will be the dickheads? Maybe nobody! Maybe everybody! Regardless, the distractions promise to be fewer – or at least orchestrated as part of the act. Ronn’s lineup includes San Francisco-raised Ethiopian-American stand-up comedienne Yayne Abeba, winner of 2002’s Russian River Comedy Competition. Also on deck are Candy Churilla and Susan Maletta. The stiff drinks and celebration are a guarantee, but the headgear is up to you.
