List: How S.F. Residents Want to Fix the City Budget

It's time to deal with the city budget, so Mayor Ed Lee has announced that he will hold town hall meetings in every district to get public input on how to close the huge deficit. What feedback is he likely to get from ordinary San Franciscans?

• "I'd like to read you a poem I wrote about budgets."

• "Math is oppressive, and doesn't represent the true diversity of San Francisco."

• "Are there snacks? Someone told me there would be snacks."

• "Can we talk about off-leash dogs instead?"

• "Hold on — you're not the mayor I paid for!"

• "What if we plant a community garden?"

• "The public library system is engaged in an antidemocratic coup and must be stopped!"

• "You need to give more tax breaks to corporations that make promises. That always works."

• "Free Palestine NOW!"

• "San Francisco will die a union town."
