Tweddle Thee Thumbs

In case you want to see the weirdest list of famous people ever, check Charlie Tweddle's website. The Santa Cruz-area guitar player also makes hats, and that's an understatement. His feather-medallioned, leant-back cowboy hats with fancy sweatstains show up on lots of celebrities: Reggie Jackson, Jose Eber, Kim Novak, Cher (in the 1970s), and the Eagles ("all of them"). A Beach Boy, a Supreme, and Jay Leno. Anyway, the silver-haired slide-guitar player opens for Thee Oh Sees tonight, with songs inspired by ploughing; indeed, he goes by "the Midnite Plowboy," which sounds dirty to us, perverted city slickers that we are. Tweddle doesn't seem to think about things that way at all, though. He made a baseball hat for George Bush Sr. and also, "I sing with the stars over my shoulder." He's got at least three songs with the word "Ol'" in them, one called "Hard Boiled Egg," and he's been compared to Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Utah Phillips.
