• We weren't expecting to have nearly as much fun at Ke$ha's S.F. show as we did. The queen of trash pop pretended to drink blood from one of her dancers' hearts, brought a fan onstage to be attacked by another dancer in a penis costume, and shot glitter out of giant guns at the crowd. She also sang some songs — and "Blow" hit hard.

• DJ Amen, KMEL, and Thizzler released their annual Freshman list of 11 promising up-and-coming Bay Area rappers. Congrats to Richie Cunning, LoveRance, Young Bari, Young Gully, Damey, Mike Dash E, Symba, Show Banga, Rafael Casal, Lil Rue, and Kreayshawn. Now get out there and make us proud.

• Soundgarden announced plans to bring its reunion tour to San Francisco in July. It'll be the first time in 14 years these guys have played together. We hope they're still every bit as hairy as they used to be.

Fizzle

• We appreciate his apparent desire to give the audience a big night for its money, but did Diddy really have to drag out his Dirty Money show for three hours at the Warfield? Especially given that Diddy himself did a lot of pointless and tiresome blabbing about Tupac and Biggie.

• Facebook relaunched its music pages last week, claiming they'll offer musicians and fans new and better ways to connect. We're happy to see the company take a more active role in the music world, but given the lack of truly new features, this announcement seems more like a gust of hype than a substantive advance.

• In other '90s nostalgia news, bigmouth Billy Corgan virtually promised that the original Smashing Pumpkins lineup will never reunite. He also released "Owata," a new song from the band's current iteration, in which he is the sole original member. Neither of these is a positive development.
