The Buddhist parable of the worst horse describes four different horses responding to the pain, anticipated or physical, of a whip. From dashing off at the sight of a whip to undergoing several beatings before departing, each horse chooses a path that has its own spiritual implications. Tonights featured artists at RADAR Productions The Worst Horse have limited or no acquaintance with Buddhism, and they have been invited to create artwork in response to the tale. Featured performers include the stunning Rhodessa Jones, founder and director of the acclaimed Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women. Also catch hilarious comedian and author Bucky Sinister (author of Get Up: A 12-Step Guide to Recovery for Misfits, Freaks, and Weirdos), wildly talented local author Ali Liebegott, performance artist and spaz Philip Huang, and a gorgeous short film, Dream of the Wild Horses, from Oddball Film + Video. Practitioners of Buddhism and nonfollowers alike will be drawn in by these original voices ruminating on humanity coping with pain.
