• Buffalo Springfield kicked off its first tour in more than 40 years at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Old songs were recast with new arrangements, Neil Young joked about forgetting the jokes he was supposed to tell, and the whole thing sounded pretty darn great. Welcome back, boys.

• Bootsy Collins rained down funky love on a packed Fillmore Saturday night, supporting his new album Tha Funk Capital of the World. The James Brown disciple's preacherlike stage presence, crazy fans, and hit-filled setlist made it one of the most emotional concerts we've seen in a long time.

• On Monday, Apple finally unveiled the details of iCloud. The free software allows users to instantly access music purchased on iTunes from any device they own. There's even a $25 annual service that will let you stream music you didn't purchase from iTunes through the cloud. Is this what the future of music listening looks like?

Fizzle

• British R&B singer Adele, whose sophomore album, 21, has spent nine weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, had to cancel Saturday's Greek Theatre show and the rest of her North American tour because of a nasty case of laryngitis. We hope she reschedules the dates soon.

• Gil Scott-Heron, poet, author, and jazzman, died May 27 at age 62. In addition to speaking widely and powerfully on race in America, Scott-Heron was considered one of the fathers of hip-hop. Many rappers, including Chuck D. and Snoop Dogg, noted his passing, and Kanye West performed at his funeral on Thursday.

• How to be the most annoying person at a show? Blow smoke in people's faces, dance violently, get wasted and puke everywhere, and/or make out wildly with your significant other in the middle of the crowd. But actually, don't do any of that, please.
