Buffalo Springfield kicked off its first tour in more than 40 years at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Old songs were recast with new arrangements, Neil Young joked about forgetting the jokes he was supposed to tell, and the whole thing sounded pretty darn great. Welcome back, boys.

Bootsy Collins rained down funky love on a packed Fillmore Saturday night, supporting his new album Tha Funk Capital of the World. The James Brown disciple's preacherlike stage presence, crazy fans, and hit-filled setlist made it one of the most emotional concerts we've seen in a long time.
