George Clinton: Show Preview

Wednesday, Jun 29 2011

The famously colorful — and colorblind — musician George Clinton is still alive and funking at nearly 70, his bands Parliament and Funkadelic (now typically referred to as one compound) continuing to influence generations of hip-hop, electronic, and even indie-rock artists. Clinton's actual date of birth is July 22, but we'll have him and his legendarily large band celebrating his birthday by serving up foundational hits like "Flash Light," "Maggot Brain," and "One Nation Under a Groove" for the first week of July in Oakland and San Francisco.
