The dinner and theater at Maestro’s Enchantment are more expensive than the events we usually recommend. The reason we still recommend it is that if you can buy a world-class three-course dinner and Svetlana the contortionist anywhere else for twice the price, we’d be very surprised. Teatro ZinZanni is always worth it. And Svetlana is such a doll — the best doll act we’ve even seen, in fact, largely because of that sweet, sweet face’s total blankness in the act of slapping the emcee. The show is a perpetual tickle, whether from the artists walking around between acts patting you on the head and performing miniature tableside sleights-of-hand, or from the perfectly timed main attractions. Part circus, part opera, and part dance-along musical, the show (aside from some light torturing of the can-we-get-a-volunteer variety) is entirely sweet and slapstick-funny. Maestro’s Enchantment reliably takes audiences to a silly, glittering fantasy world — the current cast features Voronin the magician as the emcee, Elena Gatilova aka “Lucky Moon” the aerialist, Melanie Stace as Madame ZinZanni, and a horde of acrobatic men.
