I used to go to Grasslands pretty frequently when I lived nearby in the early 90's. Never saw any evidence of bar girls. We were usually the only non-Chinese-speaking people in the place. It was fun, but I'm not sure why.

I still remember ordering bourbon the first time I went. The crusty guy behind the bar served it to me in this tiny glass that was so cloudy I wasn't sure I wanted to drink it.

I'm terribly disappointed that "Where - Good Friends And Girls Meet" is gone from the awning.

By the way, for you newbs hating on House of Nanking, it also used to be a shit hole (1997), just like Grassland used to be. The food was better back then; the hygiene was not.
