Abstract pop music experienced a renaissance in the mid-'00s. Matmos and the Fiery Furnaces both released career-defining albums, while LCD Soundsystem etched out a spot in the cultural consciousness with increasingly grandiose works. And let us not forget about Junior Boys; this Ontario duo has released four albums of tremendously chic synthesized pop over the last decade. Like fellow Canadians Chromeo, the group interweaves tight, high-octane rhythms and whizzing keyboard effects to create a sound as radiant as a disco ball. The Junior Boys' 2011 LP It's All True is a gorgeous blend of blue-eyed soul and percussive instrumentation.
